Frequently asked questions

Do I ever play against DonutDuel?+

No. Coinflip is always player vs player, and jackpot pots are made only of players' items. DonutDuel earns only the disclosed fee on settled games.

How does it work?+

Deposit balance by paying the DonutDuel account in game, buy items in the marketplace, play coinflips and jackpots, then sell what you win in your cart and withdraw your balance.

What are the fees?+

Coinflip: 5% of the pot. Jackpot: 10% of the pot. Buying items has no fee, and the cart pays 100% of the day's price. No fee is ever taken from cancelled games.

Why can someone join my coinflip with less?+

When you create a flip you choose the minimum: 95%, 90%, 85% or 80% of your stake. Each player's chance equals their share of the pot, so putting in less means a lower chance — matching fully is 50/50.

Do prices change all the time?+

No. Prices are based on real DonutSMP auction sales and update once every 24 hours.

Can I withdraw items?+

No — deposits and withdrawals are balance only. Sell your items in the cart first, then withdraw the balance.

How can a percentage fee be taken from whole items?+

The exact fee is calculated in value units, then whole items are taken without ever exceeding it. Anything that can't be covered with whole items stays with the winner and is shown on the round as a fee shortfall.

How long do deposits take?+

Your balance is added once your in-game /pay is confirmed — automatically when the payment bot is connected, otherwise by a staff member.

Why do I need to verify my Minecraft account?+

Typing a username doesn't prove you own it. Verification makes sure withdrawals reach you and nobody else.

Can I cancel a coinflip?+

Yes, until someone joins. Open challenges also expire automatically and refund your items in full.

What if I'm the only one in a jackpot?+

The round waits for a second player. If nobody joins within the idle window, the round is cancelled and your items are returned.

Can staff pick or change a winner?+

No. Moderators can only cancel rounds that haven't been drawn, which refunds every player. Every action is audit-logged.

How do I check a result?+

Open the round and use 'Verify independently', or paste the seeds into the verifier on the Fairness page.
